Former President Trump and Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell have famously not been around each other in years, leading many to believe they dislike each other but now it seems the opposite is true. The air has been having an affair since shortly after Trump took office in 2017.

“If there is anything that turns McConnell on like winning. Trump’s surprise victory in 2016 was the ultimate aphrodisiac for him. McConnell began wooing the new president soon after the inauguration,” said Joey Sweeney of the Log Cabin Republicans. He continued, “That feeling grew when Trump’s first (and only) real legislative victory was a tax cut for the wealthy. That really revved McConnell’s engines.”

McConnell and Trump also bonded over their fondness for Russian President Vladimir Putin. Some have called the minority leader, “#MoscowMitch.” The ridiculous Russian collusion scandal aside, it’s never been a secret that Trump admires and wanted to emulate the Russian president’s style and success in controlling his people. Plus, the Trump Organization has sought to build a tower in Moscow for decades.
