Israeli PM Netanyahu unveiling a new settlement in the Golan Heights named for Trump

A friend once asked me if I had any issues with President Joe Biden’s policies. Without hesitation, I cited the decision to keep the U.S. embassy in Israel in Jerusalem rather than move it back to Tel Aviv. Former President Donald Trump had moved it in 2018 and I had hoped Biden would reverse that decision. One problem I had was Biden’s close relationship with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. Netanyahu has proven time and time again that he has no interest in real peace with the Palestinians and that bothered me.

Later, I hoped Biden’s closeness with the Israeli leader would mean he would have more sway over the situation. Given the events since October 7, 2023, I have had to rethink that point of view. The U.S. needs to demand a cease-fire and the return of all the hostages taken by the terrorist group, Hamas. I get the frustration people feel about how Biden has dealt with the genocide in Gaza because I feel it, too. The difference is that I know Trump would be so very much worse.

A vote for Stein is a vote for Trump and a vote for Trump is a vote for…
