Trump gets worse every day
While not surprising, his comments about pardons for insurrectionists should terrify everyone
When Donald J. Trump won the 2016 election, I was not devastated like a lot of the people I know. I was hopeful. I thought that maybe I had been wrong. Maybe Trump would shake things up in Washington. Maybe Ivanka and Jared would somehow be moderating forces on the firebrand. Maybe this won’t be a horrible train wreck.
Two weeks later, Trump talked about revoking the journalists’ citizenship and mused that the First Amendment was only there for people who supported him. I sat down and cried. Things were going to be bad. And this was just the beginning.
