I lived in DC for a very long time and am very familiar with it. It is a great city that has its issues but is not experiencing a crime emergency that warrants federalizing the police and sending in the National Guard. This move has two goals; to distract from the Jeffrey Epstein mess and to turn the nation into a police state. President Donald Trump doesn’t want to be president, he wants to be a king.

It starts with troops in the streets.
That’s how democratic backsliding often looks in its early stages, not with tanks surrounding the Capitol, but with the slow normalization of military presence in civilian life. This week, Washington, DC, became the second testing ground for just such a move. Earlier this year, Trump tried the same thing in Los Angeles.

Armored vehicles rolled through the streets of the nation’s capital. National Guard troops took up positions near tourist attractions, where their main duty seems to be taking photos with visitors to the city. Federal agents appeared at street corners. All of this happened not after a natural disaster or terrorist attack, but because Trump declared that the city’s crime was “out of control”…
