Rights That Will Vanish in a Trump Second Term

If you think Dobbs was just about abortion, you aren’t paying attention

The freedom to use contraception, marry the person you love

Think that is far-fetched? It isn’t. In his wisdom, Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas brought up the idea that other decisions could go by the wayside. Including Griswold v. Connecticut, which gave married couples the right to use contraception, Lawrence v. Texas, which got rid of anti-sodomy laws, and Obergefell v. Hodges, which made gay marriage legal.

From Thomas’ concurring opinion from Dobbs.

For that reason, in future cases, we should reconsider all of this Court’s substantive due process precedents, including Griswold, Lawrence, and Obergefell. Because any substantive due process decision is “demonstrably erroneous,” Ramos v. Louisiana.

But wait, there’s more…

Have you heard of Project 25? Crafted by the conservative Heritage Foundation, it is the blueprint for Trump 2.0. They plan to:

  • Infuse our government with Christianity.
  • Remove legal protections for the trans and LGBTQ communities.
  • Make pornography illegal.
