In 1992, Democratic strategist, James Carville, coined the term, “It’s the economy, stupid.” At the time President George H.W. Bush seemed out of touch with most of the nation and people were feely uneasy about the economy. Bush 1’s popularity hit an all time high after the first Gulf War but has plummeted by November 1992 and Carville’s slogan perfectly summed up how people were feeling about elections.

Fast forward to 2024. Inflation is coming down. The economic data for the nation look good. The United States has outperformed the rest of the world in terms of its recovery from the Covid 19 pandemic. I personally think that is because of President Joe Biden’s American Rescue Plan Act of 2021 and Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act. I think they are the reason American inflation is way lower than what has been seen everywhere else on earth.

The problem is people aren’t seeing it. Prices at the pump are lower, sure but groceries are still way too expensive for a lot of Americans. In a nation where wages have stagnated for decades, while corporate profits have soared, it would make sense to vote for the party that supports…
