Here are some answers I wish you had given

Like most people on my side of the aisle, I found tonight’s debate cringeworthy for at least part of the time. Do I think it was fatal? No, I do not. I would like to help a POTUS out and give some of the answers I wish you had given.

On abortion

The Dobbs decision has been a disaster for families all over America. Women are being denied healthcare at ERs in states where abortion has been outlawed.

Women like Amanda Eid. After more than a year of fertility treatments, she was pregnant with a “miracle” baby. When her water broke at 22 weeks, her baby had no chance of survival but doctors couldn’t induce labor because they could still detect a heartbeat and Texas has a total abortion ban. Doctors told her to go home until she was close enough to death so they could treat her. She became septic and nearly died.

Women like Anya Cook whose water had also broken too early leaving her pregnancy unviable. Because Florida has a full abortion ban, she was turned away from the ER and ended up passing the fetus in a public bathroom. Later, she almost died on the operating table because she had lost half of her blood.
