Dear Democrats, It’s Time to Grow the F Up

Biden isn’t the first president to botch the first debate

I am very angry today. Not with MAGA world, as I often am, but with my own side. Could there be a group of people more prone to panic at the drop of anything than Democrats? As I already wrote, one bad night and we’re all Kristi Noem. You know, ready to take ol’ Joe to the gravel pit.

Sure, the debate was cringe-worthy at best and painful at worst but it not uncommon for presidents to botch the first debate. After Barack Obama botched his first debate against Mitt Romney, there were similar calls for him to drop out.

But, Alyson, President Biden is so, very, old.

Yeah, Biden has seen a lot of trips around the sun but that doesn’t mean we should abandon him for someone less tested. How many times has his political obituary been written? I can think of a bunch in 2020 and as he has decades and decades of experience falling down and getting back up again. To give up now is foolish. When he had to drop out of the 1988 presidential race, people thought he was done.
