While proponents of austerity claim fiscal responsibility, the reality is that these funding freezes are not about responsible governance — they are about cruelty. The suffering inflicted is not a byproduct; it is the point.

Here are some specific ways people across the nation are suffering due to the federal funding freeze.

Agriculture:

  • Farmers and Climate Initiatives: The freeze has disrupted programs like Wolfe’s Neck’s $35 million Climate-Smart Commodities project, which collaborates with farms nationwide.
