Antisemitism Has No Place in the U.S.
Opposition to Israel’s actions in Gaza is no excuse for anti-Jewish hate

Since the war in Gaza began, I have been critical of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamen Netanyahu’s response. I also have to wonder why he did nothing when he had the Hamas plan for more than year and why he greenlit Qatar giving the terrorist groups billions of dollars. Like most people, it is heartbreaking to watch as innocent Palestinians are killed, starved and denied access to medicine. Moreover, I do think the way the Palestinians have been forced to live in Gaza and the West Bank looks a lot like Apartheid.
None of that means I hate Jewish people. Just like not all Palestinians support Hamas, not all Jewish people support Bibi. To blame all Jewish people for the actions of the Israeli government is stupid but the situation shows how antisemitism lurks just below the surface of American society. It’s like there is a thin veneer that covers it only for it to rip through at the slightest provocation.
